No Support

I had an issue when i first got Cornerstone and could not create a working copy of my repository. I sent a support request via there email link on their website, they still havent connected me. There is no number to call, there documentation is limited at best and there email support is a joke.

so far so good

especially when Versions is not available on the App Store

Great for beginners

For someone who is new to SVN, but wanted to integrate it into the workflow, I find Cornerstone to be very easy to setup and upfront with the process. After reading the documentation, I was able to get my repos up and running is a basic way. I know there is a lot more to it than I am currently using, thus a better written and more thorough manual would be nice to help explain those deeper processes. Im knocking off a star for the shallow documentation. For a beginner however, Cornerstone is working well enough to start, with room to grow. The built-in local repositories is originally what sold me. This is very helpful if you happen to have a need for higher info security and prefer to keep your files off of other peoples servers.

Works fine, but auto-correct is too aggressive

Needs the ability to disable auto-correct when adding comments. Just try adding words like "ide" and watch it change it to "ice". Having aggressive, non-intellegent auto-correct without an option to disable it is very annoying.

Crash with latest update

Updated to latest version, now whenever I try to start the app i get: "An error ccured and the operation could not be completed." with a completely blank details screen. Huge help :(. Ive liked this product so far however this is pretty sad.

Version 2.7.10 is still corrupting my working copies

For several releases, my working copies have become corrupt apparently this happens when the application is under stress. If you baby the UI, letting the CPU go down to zero after every click or selection things seem to be somewhat stable but this is an unacceptable way to use an application. I cannot recommend using this application until the corrupt data issues are resolved.

Pretty good svn front end for svn <= 1.7

I really like this svn front end. Works very intuitively and like a charm. The only annoying thing is that you cant seem to open two cornerstone windows. So if you want to select files for svn copy from A to B (which I do all the time for tagging purposes), then you have a hard time, because you need to scroll up and down and up and down forever. Merely having two Cornerstone windows open would be easier. But if selective tagging isnt your use case, Cornerstone is it. Other weird glitches are that theres often no way to say "commit all files that are under version control / added etc". Sometimes theres a reason why I neither want to ignore all other files, nor delete, nor cancel. So I often find myself using "svn ci" on the command line still. The only real frustrating is that on 3 occasions, Cornerstone has rendered the whole svn working copy corrupted and unusable beyond repair. Now THATs painful. Unfortunately, Cornerstone does not work for svn 1.8 working copies.

I dont trust Xcodes SVN integration. I DO trust Cornerstone.

Whenever I need to interact with our repository I leave Xcode and do all of my work through Cornerstone. Where Xcode gets confused between tags and branches and added or modified files, Cornerstone always seems to get it right.

Version 2.7.10 no longer accepting self-signed certificates

The problem seems to be due to the old version of openssl (0.9.8y 5 Feb 2013) thats still included in OS X 10.8.4. Using svn version 1.7.10 from the command line has the same problem: .. SSL handshake failed: SSL error code ... My current work around was to install subversion 1.8.3 from MacPorts. This also brought along openssl 1.0.1e 11 Feb 2013. However I really miss Cornerstone! Please fix!

Good app

Please add "Update Working Copy" and "Commit working copy" buttons. Most of the time you update and commit the whole working copy instead of selected items. Always unselecting items realy annoying

Clunky, but works

Jumping Joseph, have you folks ever heard of network timeouts? If you lose your connection to the Internet or your repository stops responding, Cornerstone continues to spin. Under such conditions, canceling operations fails 100% of the time, and you cannot even shut down the app because it insists it is busy doing important network activity… even if your wifi is turned off and you’ve waited a half hour. Other than that, having trouble checking in libraries (.a files are considered folders), an inability to merge XML-based project files and general unresponsiveness, the app has generally worked for me for the last 2 years. Considering that, if you’re on a Mac, and are using SVN, there isn’t much choice other than command-line nonsense, I haven’t abandoned it yet.

Works!

Makes svn super easy to use.

Best Option Out There

I’ve tried the other SVN clients out there and Cornerstone is a great option—the best overall fit that I’ve found. I like how it assists with managing the working copies you have checked out—helpful if you check out things to various locations on your filesystem. Great job Zennaware!

2.7.15 update is garbage

Since updating I have corrupt working copies, UI freezes, errors when launching. Frankly a somewhat stable previous version has gone to an unstable, worthless application.

Poor Support

Emailed Support Many Times And got no response at all.

Crashes when trying to reintegrate a merge

Although the interface is slick and nice, I’ve had real reliability problems with this tool. After doing a merge from a trunk to my branch, changes from the trunk showed up as modifications as if I’d made them. I couldn’t get my branch to merge with the trunk at all. The application simply crashed. Judging from earlier reviews, it seems as if the quality of the application has dropped dramatically with this release. That’s a shame. I liked the GUI. Hopefully things will improve with the next version.

A Pleasure to Use

I was just using Xcode with it’s built in functionality for my SVN code repositories at CloudForge. When I installed the OS 10.4 update, all my code files were suddenly locked. When I tried to commit, I couldn’t check them in the list and get them to commit. But, if I left them unchecked, they were committed anyway. Something was messed up and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Then I found Cornerstone and I’m totally back on track. It took me a bit to figure out how to use it, but just a bit. Now, I feel like I can see what’s going on with my code and it’s a pleasure to use every time I open it. I highly recommend it!!

Couldn’t be more disappointed.

Purchased this for $59 bucks. Used if for a while, then it stopped committing files after I updated to latest version of Yosemite. Was working in Yosemite tho before the minor update. Tried to contact Zennaware customer support multiple times over 2 months without so much as an autoreply and they have no phone number on their website. Good program, unless you update your OS. Don’t buy, go with Versions instead.
